Day 6 started with the last of the round games being played before the evening’s finals. SA were strong throughout the first game, defeating ACT 8-0 and pushing ahead of WA for a top four spot. Victoria started their day with a 10-5 victory over Tasmania, who played their last game of the tournament. NSW remained undefeated in the round games with a 6-0 win over Queensland. The last round robin game saw Victoria take on WA in an extremely close and intense match. WA started strongly with a 2 run lead, however Victoria fought back to win 3-2 knocking WA out of finals contention.
After a short break, four teams were raring to get into the thick of it – first round of finals. The two games were as expected; tight contests with plenty of hustle that kept the crowd excited and on the edge of their seats. NSW knocked off Queensland 3-1 to go straight into Saturday’s Grand Final. The last game saw Victoria and SA battle it out for a place in tomorrow’s Preliminary Final play-off. In a game, which Victoria trailed for the majority, a stirring last innings saw them cut down a 3 run deficit to lead by 1 going into the bottom of the 7th. A strong defensive inning saw them set a date with Queensland.
Outstanding Performances
Haley Marchall (SA) pitched 7 innings conceding no runs and claiming 5 SOs against ACT. Natasha Young (NSW) had three at bats resulting in 4 RBI in NSW’s 6-0 win against Queensland.

U15’s Regional Championship
Day 6 at the U15 Regional Championship was the start of the playoff round. In an extended finals draw, three teams remain in the hunt for the Championship title. Qld Fire and NSW Metro Green made their way through to Day 7 with one win each cementing a spot in the Preliminary Final. NSW was a strong presence on Day 7 being the first side into the Grand Final, defeating Qld Fire 2-0.
