Softball celebrates International Day of People with Disability

In celebration of International Day of People with Disability, the Glen Eira Moorabbin Softball Association (GEMSA) facilitated a T-ball clinic for people with a disability.

People with a disability from our local community are invited to come and try a number of different sporting activities at the Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre and Bailey Reserve, Bentleigh East.

“It was a great opportunity for peak sporting bodies, local clubs and those within our community to get together, play some sport and perhaps even get involved in different sports after the event,” said Barb Lewis, President of the Glen Eira Moorabbin Softball Association.

“I would like to acknowledge the work that Marriott Support Services do to put on this event, in conjunction with many other contributors.”

For approximately six years, GEMSA has run a T-ball clinic on this day with the assistance of members from the Association.

The celebration aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.

Softball Australia would like to commend the GEMSA for their hard work in making softball an inclusive sport for people of all abilities.
