Social 7s set to grow in 2016

Social 7s, Softball Australia’s new version of slowpitch softball that is fast, fun and easy to play, was launched earlier this year and is set to grow bigger and better in 2016.

A number of Social 7s competitions recently concluded for the year, including Toowoomba in Queensland and Glen Eira Moorabbin, Doncaster and Melbourne in Victoria.

There’s been a lot of positive feedback from participants at each of the competitions. Here’s a sample of what people have said:

  • “It was VERY social. The other teams were there for the same reasons as we were – to get outside and have some fun playing sport.”
  • “I think the fact that as a whole it is easy going and not rigid. Haven’t played before but I like the way it is run.”
  • “I liked the team comradery and the ability to pick-up the game quite easily. I just personally enjoy the game style as well.”
  • “The best part was the social aspect and the ability to learn softball in an inviting environment.”
  • “It was so much fun, social aspect just made it such a laugh!”
  • “No pressure, loads of fun, and anyone can play even if they have never played before.”

Due to popular demand, there are plans for Social 7s competitions to be run at all four of these venues in the new year, in addition to a number of new venues.
