Life After Softball | Life after umpiring – scoring. |
Life after softball – travel, grandkids, volunteering | |
Funniest Umpiring moment | Umpiring a visiting US junior team, my pants split in a major way. I shifted my ball-bag to provide coverage. |
Superstitions | Socks/Shoes on left foot first, Pants over right foot first |
Funniest Crew mate | As a roommate, it has to be Trevor Murphy, so many funny life stories. As a crew-mate and on the diamond, it has to be Jay Gibson; we hit it off from the moment we met, and share laughter whenever we are together. |
What is your favourite food | Everything my wife or daughter cook (I’m hopeless), not a fan of curry/chilli/hot n’ spicy. My go-to food is a bacon & egg roll or sandwich. |
What is the main reason you started and continue to Umpire | Start: Filled in as a clubbie, stuck with it as I’d seen too many officials harassed and games devolve into a shambles. |
Continue: the constant challenge of higher-quality games, the great friends and relationships that can be made all over the world, and having the best seat in the house to see the amazing skills of our players. |
