Positions Vacant: 2019 International Friendship Series

Softball Australia is seeking expressions of interest for coaches and team managers for Australian squads for the 2019 Softball Australia International Friendship Series program, to be held at Redlands Softball Association, Queensland. The program for team officials will run from Thursday 4 July – Friday 12 July.

Softball Australia will have two U15 Girls’ and two U15 Boys’ teams participating in the program and is seeking

  • 1 x Head Coach per team (4 TOTAL)
  • 1 x Team Manager per team (4 TOTAL)
  • 2x Development Coaches per team (8 TOTAL)

Head Coach PD Development Coach PD Team Manager PD

This is an ideal opportunity for coaches and team managers to enter the national pathway for junior and senior Australian team programs. The 9-day program will expose coaches and officials to education and development opportunities in addition to working with Australia’s best junior athletes.

The Friendship Series program for team officials includes a one-day program introduction (Thursday 4 July), three-day training camp (Friday 5 July – Sunday 7 July) and five-day tournament (Monday 8 July – Friday 12 July). There will be other teams from Australia and overseas participating in the tournament.

There is no levy payable for the Head Coach and Team Manager positions. A levy is payable for the Development Coach positions, the cost (incl. GST) will be as follows:

  • $550 for coaches if flights are not required; $750 if flights are required

The levy covers flights (if required), accommodation, meals, apparel and all other development opportunities during the week.

Applications must be submitted on the Application for Position form, to National Events Manager, Shane Cantelmi, no later than COB on Monday 29 April 2019 and must include:

  • A copy of the applicant’s resume
  • A covering letter (no more than 1 page) which addresses the required qualifications and experience in the PD.
