With both her parents playing softball, it didn’t take long for Stacey to step out on to the diamond, first playing at the age of four. Her younger sister Brooke also took up the sport, going on to represent the New Zealand women’s national team.

Selected in a NSW team for the first time in 2005 (U16 Girls), Stacey also represented NSW at U19 level in 2006, 2007 and 2008. She has since been part of their senior team (NSW Firestars) since 2009, winning seven Gilley’s Shield (Open Women’s National Championship) titles to add to her two junior titles in ’07 and ’08.

Excelling in the middle infield in those NSW teams, Stacey caught the eye of national selectors and made her Australian debut at the 2011 Canada Cup. The following year, she played a test series against New Zealand, lining up against her sister.

Having represented Australia at four World Championships, Stacey is a senior member of the team who continues to play at an elite level.

In 2017, Stacey went pro, playing in the National Pro Fastpitch league for the Chicago Bandits. In the following two years, she was part of the Australian team in this league.
