NSW takes two of three Shields in Saturday night’s Softball State of Origin match-ups

It was championship day for the first three Shields to be played in 2016 and a softball state of origin match in all three.
Qld Heat proved third time lucky in the Women’s National Softball Championship at Blacktown with a thrilling 3-1 victory off the 2-run homer of the bat of Game Most Valuable Player, Jade Wall in the 6th inning before a large vocal crowd to take home the Gilley’s Shield.
Earlier in the day, NSW defeated Qld by an identical 3-1 score to stay undefeated throughout the U17 Girls National Softball Championship and take home the Esther Deason Shield.
Out west, NSW won their second shield of 2016 as their U17 Boys battled the heat, and Qld, for a 5-4 victory to win the Arthur Allsopp Shield.
