Gilley’s Shield standouts invited to AP Cup and Summer Slam

Following a thrilling edition of the 2020 Gilley’s Shield at Mirrabooka last week, Softball Australia are pleased to invite 32 players to compete in the Australia Pacific Cup and Summer Slam – Fully Loaded Softball at Blacktown International Sportspark from 30 January – 5 February.

All 32 players competed in the Open Women’s National Championship from 4-10 January with the exception of Washington Huskies star pitcher Gabbie Plain who was unable to compete for her home state of New South Wales due to her collegiate commitments.

From this group, a Travelodge Aussie Spirit and Australia A team will be selected to compete against Japan, Mexico, Italy, New Zealand and Chinese Taipei in the AP Cup.

Final teams will be announced in the coming days.
