Those New South Wales Firestars have done it again, retaining their Gilley’s Shield title by beating Queensland Heat 5-1 in the final at the Mirrabooka International Softball Stadium in Perth.
Having topped the standings after the round games, Queensland had to earn a place in the championship final by beating SA Starz 5-2 in the earlier game.

In the final, NSW jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, winning 5-1 to claim the Gilley’s Shield for the second consecutive year.

The U15 Girls’ Regional Softball Championship was held in conjunction with the Gilley’s Shield at Mirrabooka. In the final, NSW Metro Orange beat SA red 3-1 to claim the title.
