Dates for the 2017 festival of softball have been locked in for next year’s Mother’s Day Weekend – Friday May 12 to Sunday May 14.

Softball South Australia, in conjunction with Softball Australia, will host the 2017 event at their recently renovated West Beach headquarters. They hope to build on from the success of the inaugural Australia Cup held at Blacktown International Sportspark this past May. That tournament included 27 teams across four playing categories.

The Australia Cup is aimed at bringing players across the country of any age, ability or gender for a weekend of softball, entertainment, fun and excitement.

Softball SA executive officer James Harris says a lot of work will go into making the 2017 Australia Cup memorable.

“Softball SA are very excited about hosting this event,” he said.

“We’ll be sure to put on a great time for all participants. May is a pleasant time of year in Adelaide and our venue is located one minute from the beach and the multi-award winning BIG4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Park and Adelaide Shores Resort.

“Adelaide Shores are thrilled to be hosting this event in conjunction with Softball SA. They are rolling out the red carpet for those choosing to stay and play.

“We’d love to see plenty of teams from around Australia come and join us in 2017.”

More information on how to register for the event will become available later this year. Keep an eye on the Softball Australia website and Facebook for details.
