Asia Oceania 2020 Olympics softball Qualifier to be hosted by China

Softball Australia would like to confirm the WBSC has awarded the Asia Oceania 2020 Olympic softball Qualifier to Shanghai, China to be played from 24 – 29 September.

The WBSC confirmed the venues that will be hosting an Olympic Qualifier through a series of Facebook posts early on Monday morning.

While disappointed not to be hosting the Asia Oceania Qualifier in Australia, Softball Australia looks forward to sending a well prepared Travelodge Aussie Spirit side across to China in an effort to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Australia will be amongst eight teams competing for Olympic qualification in the Asia Oceania region.

More information on the Olympic Qualifier will be released as it comes to hand.

The Travelodge Aussie Spirit look forward to playing their first international tournament of 2019 at the Asia Pacific Cup from 31 January – 3 February, followed by the inaugural Summer Slam – Fully Loaded Softball Series from 4 – 6 February, both played at Blacktown International Sportspark.
