All in the family for Social 7s team

The McLean family can’t wait to play together in the Glen Eira Moorabbin Social 7s competition.

Social 7s is providing opportunities for families to come together like never before, offering them the ability to play softball together on mixed gender teams..

Keira McLean, a school teacher at Glen Eira College, first played Social 7s at the 2014 Victorian Teachers’ Games (VTG). She enjoys the opportunities offered by Softball Australia’s new version of slowpitch softball that is fast, fun and easy to play.

“The best part about Social 7s is that it’s an inclusive game and everyone can play. The rules are easy to understand, everyone gets to bat and it’s fun.”

McLean and her sisters have played fastpitch together at the Glen Eira Moorabbin Softball Association for over 10 years, with their parents and partners watching from the sidelines cheering them on. Now, they will all be out on the diamond together, playing in the McLean Team in the upcoming Glen Eira Moorabbin Social 7s competition in Victoria.

“What I’m most looking forward to is playing with my family in a social competition at our club. Having played Social 7s at VTG I know that it’s lots of fun and everyone can play,” McLean said.

The Glen Eira Moorabbin Social 7s competition begins this Thursday (15 October). It’s not too late to join in on the fun – team and individual registrations are still open – click here for more information.
