2017/18 Homeplate Ladder Program update

2017/18 Homeplate Ladder Program update

We are approaching the home turn of the Homeplate Ladder Program for 2017/18 with plenty of points still up for grabs.

Congratulations to Tigers Softball Club, an affiliate of Campbelltown Softball Association in NSW, North Rocks Softball Club an affiliate of Hornsby District Softball Association in NSW, and Bluebirds United Softball Club, an affiliate of Rockhampton Softball Association, first ever softball clubs nationally to achieve Homeplate status!!

Congratulations also to Rockingham City and Districts Softball Association, an affiliate of Softball WA and Casey Softball Association, an affiliate of Softball Victoria, the first associations to achieve Homeplate status in 2017/18. For Rockingham, it is the second consecutive year that they have achieved Homeplate status which is a wonderful achievement after finishing first in the inaugural Homeplate Ladder Program last year. Will they go back to back?

All these clubs and associations have achieved Homeplate status by demonstrating best practice governance, planning, implementing successful strategies – all of which have resulted in substantial membership growth, delivered national participation programs such as Softball Batter Up and Social 7s with great success, participated or delivered accreditation courses for their members and training for their volunteers. A feature story will be published on each of these clubs and associations detailing their success and how they achieved it in an upcoming edition of Homeplate News.

Clubs and associations still have time to achieve Homeplate status but be quick as the program for 17/18 ends on 30 June. Opportunities to score points are still available through various avenues including posting membership growth, member retention, developing and implementing an action plan, delivering National Participation programs, implementing a participant to member conversion strategy, participating or delivering Coach, Umpiring and Scoring Accreditation courses and completing Volunteer Training by 30 June 2018.
